Amy Carattini, Ph.D., is an anthropologist, educator, and writer whose work focuses on immigration, cultural identity, belonging, and the intersections between community, culture, and learning. Since joining Anne Arundel Community College in 2021, she has taught anthropology and co-led the AACC Arts Integration Hub, collaborating across disciplines to explore how narrative, culture, and creative practice shape student learning. Her teaching emphasizes the practical application of anthropological thinking—helping students recognize implicit bias, navigate cultural differences, and understand how identity informs relationships and professional practice. Her scholarship appears in Practicing Anthropology, Human Organization, Voices of Immigrant Professors, and the Handbook of Culture and Migration.
