Anna Heywood Green is Chief Executive Officer of Arts for Learning Virginia, where she advanced through programmatic and operational roles—including Chief Operations Officer and Affiliate Director for Coastal Virginia Wolf Trap—before being appointed CEO in July 2025. With more than two decades of nonprofit leadership and arts management experience, Anna leads strategic initiatives, cultivates partnerships, and ensures organizational sustainability to provide every child with access to creative, high-quality arts learning. Raised in Whynot, North Carolina’s historic Seagrove pottery region, Anna grew up immersed in the arts through her family’s business, Whynot Pottery, founded in 1981. Her studies in theater, visual arts, business administration, and nonprofit leadership at Tidewater Community College and the College of William & Mary reflect her lifelong commitment to creative learning. Passionate about community engagement, Anna has contributed to statewide and regional education and cultural development through advisory panels and local councils. She lives in Norfolk, is the proud parent of a teenager, and actively volunteers with Norfolk Public Schools and United Way of South Hampton Roads initiatives supporting early childhood education.
